Untitled Installation - Handmade Paper from Abacca Pulp, Twigs, Roots, Leaves, Earth - Variable Dimensions

Paper

These paper pulp sculptures emerge from a practice of deep attention to place. Working with found materials from rural Virginia—twigs, roots, earth, wire, plant fibers—I embed fragments of the landscape directly into the work. Each piece becomes a physical record of time spent in a specific location, holding both the environment's memory and my own.

"Helter Skelter" maps chaos and connection through paper pulp fragments and gold-leafed branches. The installation holds found materials—branches, roots, wire, earth—creating a constellation of preserved moments. The scattered forms suggest both disorder and underlying rhythm.

Created during my artist residency at Virginia Center for Creative Arts, I incorporated leaves, grasses, twigs, and earth in my handmade paper sculptures. It serves as a memory and recording of a time and place.
